Spring Favorites: Denim Edition by Amanda Eaman
While it may not quite feel like spring yet, it certainly looks like spring in your favorite stores. New collections have arrived, racks have been refreshed, and denim is once again taking center stage.
But are you ready to embrace another season of jeans?
If you’re wondering which styles are worth trying this year, here are a few key denim trends to keep an eye out for this spring:
1. Relaxed Straight-Leg Jeans
One of the most effortless styles of the season. Look for a slightly relaxed leg (not tight) with a mid- to high-rise waist for a silhouette that’s easy to wear and endlessly versatile. One to try: Levi’s Dad Jean
2. Ultra Wide-Leg / Baggy Jeans
Volume is everywhere this season—just ask your teenager. These jeans feature exaggerated wide legs, higher rises, and longer lengths that often cover the shoe. One to try: Uniqlo Low Rise Wide Jeans
3. Barrel-Leg (Balloon) Jeans
Yes, you read that right—this silhouette is sticking around for another season and I’m not mad about it. The barrel leg features a curved shape that’s roomy through the thigh and tapers slightly at the ankle. One to try: Zara Z1975 High Waisted Barrel Jeans
4. Trouser-Style Jeans
Denim is becoming more tailored. Trouser-inspired jeans often feature structured waists, pleats, or a clean wide leg, giving denim a put-together vibe. One to try: Citizens of Humanity Paloma Utility Trouser Jean
5. Throwback Denim (Y2K & ’90s)
This one may not be for the faint of heart. Think acid washes, flared silhouettes, cigarette jeans, and lower rises. Whether you love it or leave it, the early-2000s influence is back. One to try: Denim Forum The ‘90s Super Lo-Rise Baggy Jean
As always, the best pair of jeans is the one you feel confident and comfortable in. Trends come and go, but personal style always wins.
And if you’d like a little help navigating the season’s denim (or styling what you already own), don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d love to help.

Travel Local: Sentier des Cimes in the Laurentians
I recently spent a week in the Laurentians and one afternoon we decided to check out Sentier des Cimes which is in the Laurentians near Mont-Blanc.
Sentier des Cimes is a …. sentier - a path that starts near the entrance and continues in a circular pattern until you reach the very top where there is a netting in the middle you can walk on. There are informative signs along the way, and it is a lot of fun walking high up on the tree line. There’s also a pretty thrilling slide to go down which will definitely get your heart racing - it looked like younger kids were OK to go with a parent.
The path is stroller and toddler proof and the sides are very well protected. At night they have a ton of beautiful lights - sadly we were not there at that time but they were just starting to twinkle.
If you’re looking for a family friend, easy activity in the Laurentians check it out.
An Article to Think About
This article about the Avoidance Trap really resonated with me. Often, when things are cancelled I breathe a sigh of relief. But on the flip, very often when I go through with things - whether it’s something new, an evening out or doing something hard at work - I feel a huge rush and a thought of ‘What if I had backed out? I never would have live that amazing experience.’ It’s a fine line and she gets into this as well. I really liked it.
I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this!
As I build my runs, I’m always interested in what I’m going to listen to. I haven’t even listened to an audiobook but I think this book about Spencer Pratt (yes, you read right - The Hills Spencer Pratt) might just fit the bill. Fast moving, great reviews and a juicy topic (well if you’re a zillion years old and remember The Hills!)
Not sure if Gap is doing a push to influencers, but I’ve been seeing this sweater all over my feed and it is quite nice and practical.
WHOOPS - ALMOST DONE: Please remember that while you may receive Three Good Things to Know as an e-mail, all issues of the newsletter are available in the archive.
