Spooky and spookier
We are on the road a lot. We play a lot of car karaoke but sometimes I get a little tired of hearing Kendrick Lamar for the thousandth time.
Greeking Out and Wow in the World have been our go-to podcasts for ages. The kids have aged out of Wow in the World and I think we’ve listened to every episode of Greeking Out about 6 times - although they are slowly coming out with new episodes!
We listened to a few episodes of Grimm, Grimmer and Grimmest which personally I loved but the kids found a bit young. It’s spooky stories for kiddos based on the Grimm tales (which are actually quite disturbing).
After complaining about that podcast, I turned on Radio Rental. Now, no, this is not a kids podcast. This podcast is about scary, dreadful true stories told by the actual people. Listen to if before you decide if it’s good for much older kids. It is fully creepy. We were driving at night and holding our breath and fully freaked out. If your kids are NOT old enough and you are looking to be a little frightened - give it a listen yourself!
I have also been told Brains On! is an awesome podcast for kiddos. I can’t wait to give it a listen!
Fashion: White After Labour Day? Absolutely.
By Amanda Eaman
“If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun.” — Katharine Hepburn
One fashion rule that is truly outdated? That wearing white after Labour Day is taboo.
The rule dates back to a time when white was associated with summer resort wardrobes. After Labour Day, people returned to the city and to their more formal, darker clothing. Of course, this was also presumably a time when Labour Day actually marked the end of summer. These days, by Labour Day most of us have already been back to school, work and regular programming for what feels like weeks!
White can—and dare I say, should,—be worn all year round. Yes, even through the frigid temperatures here in Montreal. And really, what pairs better with fluffy white snow than crisp winter whites?
Some of my favourite ways to wear white in cooler weather start with a great pair of white jeans. This year, think barrel-shaped. Pair them with grey on top or a warm camel knit. Ooooooo! How about a sharp navy blazer?

Levi’s Ribcage Straight - $118 - I like that there are lots of lengths offered and the price point doesn’t take my breath away.
Zara High Waist Barrel - $79.90 - A great barrel option.
Agolde High-Rise Wide Leg Jean - $334.77 - A gorgeous designer option
Links:
Everlane Way High Curve Jean - USD 88 - More of an ecru, perfect for soft browns and beiges
Denim Forum The Farrah Lo-Rise Wide Jean - $128 - Not into high waisted? Here is a pair for you.
Gap Mid Rise 90's Loose Cargo Jean - $49.99 - Cargo!
And the shoes? Anything goes. Metallics! Classic black boots! Oxblood loafers! Red ballerinas! Brown Adidas! This is where you can have some fun.
Hopefully by now I’ve inspired you to try wearing white—maybe even today. And if not, perhaps I’ve at least made you winter-white curious?

Good Tunes
I’m not much of a pop music fan so you won’t find much Ariane Grande or Tate McRae here. But if you’re into a little more alternative stuff (if you can call 3.1 million Instagram followers alternative…) Phoebe Bridgers new album Lost Weekend is pretty phenomenal. It sometimes veers into country territory which is not really for me but it is overall excellent.
Also - if you are an Oasis fan they just announced a 2027 tour!
ALSO….
I’m really loving this jewelry from Pink Reef. It would definitely fancy up any outfit.
I finally had the hummus at La Hummousia in NDG - it was SO GOOD! But it’s a lot of hummus for one person. Share with a friend!
