It's November!
Let's Do This
Music you can scream at
Florence & The Machine’s latest album Everybody Scream is giving major chills - especially the banger Sympathy Magic (when those synths drop it’s such a VIBE). Her music is built for arenas and if you like her sound I highly recommend her show in April. I think it’s going to be amazing and am so excited already.
Also as a photographer, can I just say to Florence thank you for giving credit, and especially showing how these high production photographs take such a team of many many specialized people.
A few good eats
The first Chinese Restaurant Awards are out with the majority being in Richmond. I cannot even imagine how many Chinese restaurants Richmond must have if there are like 30 making this list! Montreal has two!
I haven’t done so much eating out lately, but Bar Otto was a winner. Portions are small but very well done.
Christmas
Christmas is coming up! I know I know…
Just a reminder that if you want to shop local, it’s always best to start a wee bit more in advance. I recently went to Ex Voto in Little Italy and swear I could have bought everything in there. Plan ahead for markets, etc. Imagine if everyone bought more gifts locally? I know that as a small business owner I do a little happy dance every time I get a new client and I am sure other small business owners do too.
Note: You may notice this week’s newsletter was a little lame and I didn’t really get out other newsletters on time. I’ve just been feeling really uninspired lately and I don’t want to send out something crap and waste your time. I’ll pick it up when I’m feeling a little more refreshed! Thank you for your patience.
What we’ve all been waiting for - the definitive answer to ‘What exactly is “6 7”???
Reader Book Recommendation: Heather recommended You are Here by David Nicholls - her favourite read this summer
Rifle Paper has come out with a holiday table and I want it all. It’s so cute!
Tin Can update - a reader wrote to Tin Can to see if it would work in Canada and this was the response:
Great question, and yes, Tin Can works in Canada! Both of our plans are available:
- Can 2 Can, free, calling between approved Tin Cans!
- Party Line, $9.99 per month, calling to and from approved regular phone numbers with a local Canadian number you choose during setup!
International calling outside the U.S. and Canada is not supported yet.
Let us know if there is anything else we can help with!
Tin Can Crew
OK OK so maybe this website lacks a bit for the Canadian portion, but if you are in Europe this beach searcher might just help you find a gem!
Mastermind Toys is opening in Les Cours Mont-Royal downtown and includes a Coco Village. Good news for those of us who shop or work downtown!
WHOOPS - ALMOST DONE: Please remember that while you may receive Three Good Things to Know as an e-mail, all issues of the newsletter are available in the archive.
ALSO, HMMM: Do you follow me on Instagram? I’d love to see you there.
LASTLY - PRETTY PLEASE: It would mean the world to me if you shared 3 Good Things with friends and family. You can do so using the buttons below.
OKAY JUST JOKING REALLY LAST BUT REALLY IMPORTANT: Please don’t be shy to contribute. This could be a book you read, restaurant recommendation, event or someone really awesome I should get in touch with so they can share their knowledge or promote their business.
Michelle Little is a photographer who specializes in family, maternity, newborn, headshots and boudoir. I offer studio, in-home and outdoor photography. You can see her website here and get in touch here.
I also have an insanely popular photography newsletter you can sign up to here for news, mini session announcements and more. Once a year I giveaway a free studio session to a lucky subscriber (maybe that’s why it’s insanely popular?)
